Poem

Somewhere along the line, we lost our loyalty

Animals are more trustworthy than humanity
A dog won't bite out of pure sadism
Wolves don't kill eachother for religion
Cats fight over food for survival, not greed
While humans murder for simple enjoyment of the deed

A society driven by violence and hate
Our hunger for death we will never sate
Genocide, homicide, it has many names
But its just the want to see others in flames

The small lights of innocence, pureness

Are so often tainted, snuffed out by darkness
Those that survive are drops in a stream
Pitiful cries against a roaring scream

Washed away in moments unable to float
Whilst those in power luxuriate and gloat

Money is power, power is deceptive
It allows us to keep our views selective
We can't seem to see from eachothers perspective

Mistakes are made, lives are lost
For wisdom, many innocents are the cost
Even then the knowledge is abused
Only for evil and power is it used

Eventually with a last flickering light
The world will rid itself of the human blight
